PASS THROUGH ACCOUNTS:

These are not ‘pass through’ accounts and a minimum average monthly balance of $250.00 is recommended. (Average balance over the course of a month, not fixed amount at all times).


A pass through account is one that is used with the purpose of receiving money from one source and immediately withdrawing or transferring to another (other than to yourself).


ACH TRANSFER TO THE ACCOUNT.

The daily limit is US$ 1500.00 (default) however can easily be upgraded.


WIRE TRANSFER TO THE ACCOUNT.

You can have wire transfer sent directly to the account. Standard amount is up to US$1500.00 (can be more with pre-notice). Wire Transfers must originate from prime US or International banks. CHECK DEPOSIT.


You may send a US issued check to be deposited. Not all checks will be accepted. Do not send personal checks, third party checks, joint checks, traveler’s checks etc. Checks must be from US companies (such as PayPal, Google etc), know payment systems, and must be in US Dollars drawn on US banks. INTERNATIONAL CARD USE:

a 3rd party ISF fee of 1-3% may be deducted for all card usage outside the USA. This is not an Accent program fee.

to open your own US Bank account as a non resident.

Ok. First things first.


First, you’ll need to know the name of the bank. Your U.S. bank

account will be open in:

The first “secret” you should know is that for opening your account

you will not have to contact E*Trade Bank but E*Trade Securities, LLC.

E*TRADE Securities, LLC is a member of the SIPC. They are a separate

company but affiliated with E*TRADE Bank.



By working with E*Trade Securities you will be able to have banking

services with all the benefits.


First, you don’t have to ask for a checking or saving account.


This types of accounts can not be opened as non-resident.


So, you will have to ask for a brokerage account.


A brokerage account can be used as a checking account, you


will not received interest on your balance, but you will have the choice

2 to 3 days after the bank as received your forms, you can call or

email E*Trade and request your checkbook before you receive your

welcome kit.


You can even request it before any funds have been deposited into

your account. Simply call E*Trade on 1-916-636-2510. The mail for

customer service is service@etrade.com


Or you can wait to request a check book after you receive your

welcome pack.



Remember that you are opening a “E*trade Securities Brokerage

Account”
. If you simply ask for a bank account they are not going to

help you.


You can ask for your account details at this time and login to your

bank account on line.



There is no need to wait for your welcome pack to access your account

and deposit funds.

Your initial deposit


The bank will open your account even if you don’t send any deposit

with your forms. However you can fund your account by including

a $1,000 US check or US money order with your applications.


Or…


After you have received your account number, you can fund it in any


amount
via your PayPal, 2Checkout.com or any other account that can

send ACH transfers (direct deposits).


The minimum deposit needed to open a cash brokerage account is

$1,000 while the minimum to open a margin account and begin trading

is $2,000.


You can also wire funds from your home bank account, in any amount.


Instructions on wire transfers can be found updated in the bank web


site. (Remember you have to follow the instructions on how to wire

money to your E*TRADE Securities account)


Your VISA Platinum Debit card


Remember that you will need to have at least US$ 1000 in your

account to ask for your debit card.


You can send the application included in your welcome pack, or you

can order it from the bank web site.

How to send money from Paypal



To receive ACH transfers (direct deposits) from Paypal, 2Checkout

or any other service. Just use the following details.

*Remember that doing an ACH (direct transfer) is different than a wire

transfer. A wire transfer (usually used for International Transfers) has

Wells Fargo is one of the biggest Banks in USA that can provide IPB  ( International Personal Banking ) for Non-Resident . This is Not an easy account to open for foreigners and also it can not be used just for  PayPal and ecommerce money transfer purpose . It’ll take some time and strict paper work to open an account with Wells-Fargo, also a signature verification process is required to verify your identity/signature  with the bank. I believe this is wont be a problem if you are running a legitimate business/activity .

Identification Documents Required :


- Copy of Passport

- Copy of National Identity Card/Driver License

- Signature card verification

- You will need to attach the most recent 3 months bank statements and 2 bank reference letters from your local bank.


Follow the following steps in order to open an account with Wells Fargo :


1- Visit the Wells Fargo IPB landing page .  Apply for the account by filling-up the online application form , and print it out



2- Also print out the signature card form and the service agreement


Signature Verification Process


To verify your signature, it has to be done by one of these three ways:


1- SWIFT message type 199 send by your bank.

2- Signature verified by San Francisco IPB office or Hong Kong IPB office.

3- Signature notarized by US Embassy or Consulate.


For choice #1, visit your local bank and ask them if the Swift message type 199 is available

( Most of the bank officers have never heard of SWIFT message type 199 before! ).



For choice #2, the best choice for Hong Kong / US residents


For choice #3, this seems like the only ’slightly’ more convenient way to do so. Given that you live near the consulate. It will cost you a fee to certify your document ( should be around USD$20 per document).


Please note that the Wells Fargo service agreement stated that you can not use the bank account for PayPal and other eCommerce solution. Make sure you read it carefully.
